Tell Me More About The Founding Values InitiativePaul Brentwood HenryPaul Henry (July 9, 1942-July 31, 1993) was an evangelical Christian, professor of Political Science, and politician from the state of Michigan. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Pasadena High School, Pasadena, California in 1959. He received a B.A. from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois in 1963. Paul was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia and Ethiopia from 1963 to 1965. He earned a MA from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina in 1968, a Ph.D. from Duke in 1970 and was Professor of Political Science at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1970 to 1978. While at Calvin College, Henry was a member of the Michigan State Board of Education from 1975 to 1978. He left the college to serve in the Michigan State House of Representatives. Hal SawyerHal Sawyer was a soft-spoken but bright conservative who served a too-brief eight years in Congress. He was primarily known as "Jerry Ford's Congressman" because he took back the Grand Rapids seat for Republicans after Democrats had won it twice when Ford left Congress to become Vice President. But with his accomplishments both in and out of Congess, Sawyer was much more than that. Peter SecchiaPeter Secchia's chairmanship of the board of Universal Forest Products, Inc. speaks of only one involvement of this individual who has given so much of himself to social causes overall. Besides an active preservationist in his position at the above-noted Fortune 500 company, Ambassador Secchia has been a noted entrepreneur, statesman, and philanthropist. |
